Scottish starlet rumoured with surprise move to Arsenal

Aston Villa have reportedly identified Aberdeen youngster Calvin Ramsey as their top transfer despite strong interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.

The West Midlands outfit already possesses one of the best academy systems in the English top-tier with many talents having been provided with a first-team debut over the past year.

However, according to Italian journalist Ekrem Konur, Aston Villa are ready to rival the Red Devils and the Gunners for Aberdeen wonderkid Ramsey.

At a time when the Dons have suffered five successive loss in the Scottish Premiership, the 18-year-old has emerged as one of the best young prospects in the country.

The right-back has contributed three assists from nine appearances in the top flight, two of which have come in the last three contests.

Ramsey recently signed a new deal, tying himself to Pittodrie until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Meanwhile, The London giants have enquired about Yossef En-Nesyri and are set to follow up on their initial interest by asking Sevilla for a price quote on the striker.

Arsenal might have an immediate requirement to add strikers next summer, with the futures of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah in doubt, as both have entered the last year of their respective contracts. However, the Gunners are reportedly looking at Morocco international as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Red Devils also keen on strengthening their ranks in January and their no.1 transfer target has been Dortmund hotshot Haaland.
