Revealed: German giants tried to sign Chelsea creative winger
German giants, Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has revealed that the club were in talks with Chelsea during the current summer transfer window about future of Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The 19-year-old was strongly linked with a switch to the Allianz Arena ahead of the 2019-20 season, however, he ultimately put pen on a new five-year deal with the West London club.
Hudson-Odoi’s future was also uncertain in the latter stages of the recent summer transfer window, with Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich believed to be attempting to bring him to Allianz Arena.
Salihamidzic has now confirmed that the two parties were in talks over the England international, however, a deal has never been agreed and Hudson-Odoi has continued his career at Stamford Bridge.
“There are transfers that come to the point where you have to say: ‘We have to leave this immediately’,” Salihamidzic told Bild. “It is all the more important that one thinks about alternatives or alternative paths right from the start. We negotiated with Chelsea but there was no agreement. That happens.”
Talented English forward has found back of the net once in five appearances for the West London club this season.
