Reading ace on the brink to agree deal for Chelsea
Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Reading teenager Michael Olise when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer.
The 19-year-old has been in stunning form for the Royals during the 2020-21 season, founding back of the net five times and providing 10 assists in 37 Championship games.
Olise’s current contract is set to expire next June, though, meaning that his Championship team could be forced into a summer sale unless the midfielder agrees to a new contract.
According to Eurosport, Chelsea, Liverpool and current Premier League leaders Manchester City are keeping close tabs on Olise’s contract situation and ready to go head-to-head to secure his services in the summer.
However, the English trio are likely to face stiff competition from German giants Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, while Napoli and Monaco, are also said to be tracking his progress.
Olise represented both Man City and Chelsea at youth level before joining Reading, where he has played 66 games over the last three seasons and he has been tipped to have a bright future.
Chelsea and Liverpool also planning to sign another championship star David Brooks whose future at Bournemouth remains up in the air.
