Man Utd starlet could make switch to La Liga this month

Facundo Pellistri is set to quit Manchester United on loan this week, Goal has reported, with a number of clubs interested in taking the winger.

Pellistri purchased from the Uruguayan outfit Penarol in October for €10 million (£9 million) but, having only managed a handful of matches for the Under-23s side, both the club and the star have agreed that he should go on loan to guarantee more game time and develop his game.

It is understood Club Brugge, who the Red Devils beat in the UEFA Europa League last campaign, are leading the race to land the teenager on loan for the remainder of the campaign, with Alaves also interested.

However, the sticking point from the Spanish side’s perspective is that they are short of time, and have yet to detail what the club can offer to Pellistri.

It is understood Facundo has always wanted the opportunity to prove himself in La Liga but that a move to Brugge appeals to him after they explained to him their need for a right winger.

The Belgian outfit have been in regular contact with the 19-year-old ace and promised him a leading role in a team who are top of the Belgian top-flight, Jupiler Pro League and are still fighting in the UEL, having been knocked out of the UCL.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been impressed with Facundo since he arrived in October and his displays and ability have pleased U23s coach Neil Wood.
