Man Utd set to miss out signing of explosive French forward

La Liga giants, Barcelona have reportedly not given up hope of extending Ousmane Dembele’s deal and believe there is still a chance for the Frenchman to commit his future to the club.

The 24-year-old forward will see his current contract at Camp Nou end in June and he is now free to sign pre-contract agreements with foreign teams.

The Catalan giants sporting director Mateu Alemany recently revealed that the team will look to sell the Frenchman in January after he turned down multiple offers to extend his deal.

The likes of Newcastle United, Chelsea and Man Utd have all been credited with an interest in Frenchman; however, Barcelona will now attempt to make another contract proposal to the former Dortmund forward.

Marca reports that Dembele’s agent is in Catalonia and he is set to hold talks with Spanish giants hierarchy ‘in the next few hours’ to discuss his client’s future once again.

The report claims that Xavi’s side believe they have tabled the best possible contract offer, given their financial constraints, while manager has reiterated to the forward that he would be part of his first-team plans if he commits his future to the club.

Dembele has played 129 games for the Catalan giants across all competitions, founding back of the net 31 times and registering 23 assists.
