Man Utd on the verge to agree deal for South American No.11 forward

Ajax forward Antony is reportedly determined to secure a transfer to Premier League giants, Manchester United this summer.

The 22-year-old winger has allegedly emerged as a leading transfer target for the Red Devils, having impressed under new head-coach Erik ten Hag in Amsterdam.

A number of other teams have also been credited with an interest in the attacker, who still has more than three years left before his contract expires.

However, according to Goal, the Brazilian winger has made it clear that he wants to move to Man Utd during this summer’s transfer window to reunite with Ten Hag.

The report suggests that the Red Devils have held ‘informal talks’ with Dutch giants over the forward, however, are yet to submit an official offer despite the recent rumours.

Antony is believed to be aware of interest from other leading European teams. however, is only interested in departing from Amsterdam to make the move to Manchester.

Ten Hag is believed to have mentioned the South American during his first recruitment meeting with the Red Devils, and the team are now ready to back their new head coach.

“I want to thank you for everything you taught me. Know that I will always stand with you if you need me,” Antony posted on social media when Ten Hag left to take the Red Devils job.

Last season, the forward has found back of the net 12 times and provided 10 assists in 32 games in all competitions, including eight goals and four assists in 23 Eredivisie appearances.

Antony was also in stunning form in the Champions League, founding back of the net twice and providing four assists in seven games, as the Dutch giants made the last-16 stage of the competition.
