Manchester United are interested in signing Romain Faivre – but they face stern competition from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Brest midfielder, who signed for the Ligue 1 side from Monaco last summer transfer window, has caught the eye this campaign with four goals and three assists in 19 matches.
He recently penned a new contract until June 2025 and his value has skyrocketed, having joined Les Pirates for just £450,000 last year.
And, according to Le10 Sport, a host of sides are keen on Faivre with the Red Devils and the Parisians said to be watching him.
New PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino was able to cast his eyes over Romain on Saturday night as the player played 90 minutes in his side’s 3-0 defeat at the Parc des Princes.
United’s interest in Romain comes amid plenty of Old Trafford exit rumours in January, with a host of players reportedly set to depart United.
Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero have been informed they can leave the Red Devils ahead of their deals expiring at the end of the season, while Newcastle are considering moves for United trio Brandon Williams, Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard.
Furthermore, Jesse was last weekend linked with a shock transfer to Inter Milan – but only if the Italians can sell flop Christian Eriksen first.
Meantime, Newcastle United have allegedly accepted defeat in their pursuit of Manchester United’s Brandon Williams.
The Magpies are one of several sides to have been linked with the 20-year-old defender, along with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Southampton.
However, The Northern Echo claims that Newcastle have cooled their interest as they do not believe the Red Devils are still willing to loan out the defensive talent this month.
