Man Utd in talks to agree new deal for 28-year-old midfielder
Manchester United could reportedly offer forgotten midfielder Jesse Lingard a new contract at Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old who has struggled for action in the first half of the 2020-21 season has impressed for West Ham United after being allowed to join them on loan during the January transfer window.
Lingard excelled for the London outfits, founding back of the net nine times and provided five assists in 16 games, as David Moyes’s side secured a Europa League spot for next campaign.
David Moyes’s said to be keen to secure the services of the England international on a permanent deal, however, according to ESPN, he could yet be a part of the Red Devils plans moving forward.
The report suggests that the 20-time English champions are planning to offer Lingard a new deal, with his existing terms due to expire next June.
However, it is unclear whether the forward would be prepared to stay with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side unless he was offered the chance to start regularly at Old Trafford.
Lingard has managed to found back of the net 33 times and provided 20 assists in 210 games for Man United.
