Man Utd in pole position to agree deal for Inter Milan defensive rock
Manchester United have reportedly told Serie A gaints Inter Milan that a debt in relation to Romelu Lukaku could be cleared if they have the chance to secure services of either Milan Skriniar or Lautaro Martinez.
Romelu Lukaku joined Inter from the Red Devils back in 2019, however, the Italian giants are paying off the fee in instalments as they could not afford to spend €80m (£69m) in one transaction.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Inter Milan have missed a payment as they are struggling financially following to the coronavirus pandemic, which has put them in €50m (£43m) worth of debt to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
The report suggests that the 20-times English champions have discussed the possibility of securing the services of either Lautaro Martinez or Milan Skriniar in order to settle the debt.
Skriniar has been rumoured with a move away from San Siro over the last 12 months, with the 26-year-old defender previously rumoured with Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
Lautaro Martinez, meanwhile, has been heavily linked with La Liga giants Barcelona, however, the Argentina international recently said that he was on the brink of signing a new deal with the Italian giants that are on top of the Serie A table this campaign.
