Man Utd eyeing move for international no.7 forward

Premier League giants, Chelsea and Manchester United are both reportedly interested in securing the services of Bayer Leverkusen forward Florian Wirtz.

The 18-year-old talent has made an impressive start to the current campaign founding back of the net five times and providing four assists in six games in all competitions.

Wirtz, who has a deal at BayArena until June 2026, has now played 53 appearances for Leverkusen’s first team, scoring 14 goals and providing 12 assists.

According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, German giants, Bayern Munich are favourites in the race to sign the attacking midfielder in the summer of 2023.

However, Falk claims that Man City, Chelsea Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal are also showing an interest in his signature.

Wirtz, who has already been capped on three occasions by Germany, has four goals and four assists in five Bundesliga appearances at the start of the 2021-22 season.

The youngster’s father Joachim Wirtz recently claimed that his son is planning to continue at Leverkusen for “the next two years”.

However, EPL giants could convince Bayer Leverkusen to sell their starlet if they offer a healthy transfer fee for his signature.

Bayer Leverkusen another star Moussa Diaby has been also rumoured with a possible switch to Premier League as Arsenal and Liverpool are main candidates to secure his services.
