Man Utd 23-year-old midfielder rules out Old Trafford exit

Manchester United star Donny van de Beek has decided to stick with the club and to fight for a spot in the Norwegian manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side next campaign.

The Dutchman signed for the club in a £34 million deal from Ajax last year but he managed just four Premier League starts last campaign, in a disappointing debut season at Old Trafford.

Real Madrid are interested in landing the midfielder and the La Liga side have reportedly submitted a one-year loan proposal which would include an obligation to buy the Dutchman next year.

However, the Manchester Evening News report that Donny wants to stay at the Theatre of Dreams and he is not ready to give up on his career at United.

He signed a five-year deal last year and Red Devils head coach has long stressed that the player would need at least a year to settle into life in the PL, given its physicality.

Solskjaer allegedly wants to drop the ‘McFred’ midfield partnership between Fred and Scott McTominay next season, as he is keen to play two attack-minded midfielders ahead of a holding midfielder.

That would certainly give more opportunities to the Dutch ace, who was primarily used in a no.10 position when he did play for United last term.
