London rivals set to beat Arsenal in their pursuit of Celtic hotshot

West Ham United are reportedly the latest club to join Arsenal in the race for in-demand Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.

The former Paris Saint-Germain attacker is widely expected to leave the Scottish giants this summer, with his current deal due to expire in 2022 and no renewal in sight.

Arsenal and Leicester City have long been linked with an approach for the striker over the past few months, but according to Football Insider, the Hammers could now move ahead of the Foxes and the Gunners in the race for his signature.

FA Cup winners Leicester are believed to be closing in on the signing of Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka, and Brendan Rodgers is therefore not believed to pursue another attacking-minded player in the summer market.

As a result, the report suggests that West Ham are prepared to take advantage by swooping for Edouard, especially with two other rumoured targets in Adam Armstrong and Tammy Abraham supposedly not available, however, they still have to beat Arsenal in the race.

Edouard has managed to found back of the net 22 times across all competitions for Celtic last season, and he also scored twice for the France Under-21 side in the European Championship, however, Les Bleuets suffered a disappointing quarter-final exit to the Netherlands.
