Liverpool told to make approach for 23-year-old Serie A forward

Former Liverpool attacker Joe Cole says Juventus youngster Federico Chiesa’s style of play suits the Anfield outfit down to the ground.

The 23-year-old Italian starred for his nation at UEFA Euro 2020, with his electric showings helping fire Roberto Mancini’s side to glory.

Federico has also bagged two goals in all competitions at club level this campaign, including a fine winner in the Old Lady’s 1-0 victory over Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

Cole reveals he was taken aback by the lack of big-money transfers done by Liverpool in the summer and thinks that Federico would be a ‘perfect’ fit for his old club given his high-octane performances.

‘It was an indifferent summer for Liverpool. I was surprised they didn’t go out and bring in a superstar. Like what Sir Alex Ferguson used to do when they would win trophies,’ Joe told Coral.

‘They’d go again and double down, they’d bring someone in who might sort of ruffle feathers. Someone like Chiesa is an absolute perfect player from Juventus for Liverpool, the way he plays.’
