Liverpool plotting move for Ajax highly-rated forward

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have reportedly been named as possible candidates to sign Ajax attacker David Neres.

Previously linked with a transfer to Anfield, the 24-year-old star is once again been touted with a transfer away from the Dutch Eredivisie leaders.

In spite of previously being a key component in the Netherlands, David has struggled to recapture a leading role this term.

This had led to a recent report from Spanish sports newspaper AS, as quoted by Express Sport stating that the Merseyside giants could seize their chance.

The initial report says that the twice capped Brazil U23 star could be a long-term replacement for Reds key man Mohamed Salah on Merseyside.

Recently, de Joden boss Erik Ten Hag revealed there was a chance David would leave the Dutch outfit during the summer’s transfer window, with the La Liga duo Sevilla and Atletico Madrid reportedly keen.

Those transfers failed to materialise and this campaign the South American has scored twice and provided one assist in seven matches.

As a potential replacement for the former Chelsea and Roma star, however, it is likely that the skilful wide man would make the grade.
