Liverpool plotting move for 27-year-old Real Madrid forward

Real Madrid star Marco Asensio has been given a new contract at the Spanish club amid Liverpool’s interest in him, according to a recent report.

The 26-year-old’s existing deal expires in June 2023, meaning the Galacticos could lose the forward on a free transfer at the end of next term, or for a cut-price sum in the upcoming summer transfer market.

However, in spite of Calciomercato.com stating that the likes of the Reds, AC Milan and Arsenal are keen on the Spain international, their report also says that Los Blancos have offered Asensio a contract extension offer in order to ward off interest.

Although, in spite of the revised offer allegedly being on improved terms, Marco has also decided to change entourages ahead of potential conversations, or a transfer move at the end of the term.

Super-agent Jorge Mendes has been lined up to represent him, with the 56-year-old Portuguese also sounding out a potential switch to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur too.

After experiencing numerous injury-hit campaigns at the Santiago Bernabeu, Marco has shaken off fitness woes to make 28 La Liga outings for his side so far this term, netting nine times in the process.
