Liverpool joined the race for La Liga No.11 forward

Liverpool are reportedly set to battle Serie A giants AC Milan and Juventus for the signing of Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio.

The 25-year-old’s agent, Horacio Gaggioli, recently revealed that Spanish winger came close to departing from the Bernabeu on loan over the summer, however, the deal hasn’t been materalised after the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti.

Despite one report suggesting  Premier League giants, Arsenal had failed with a £34m bid for Real Madrid’s No.11 forward this summer, Fichajes claims that there are now three team, Juve, AC Milan and Liverpool, who are leading the race for the Spaniards services.

Jurgen Klopp is believed to be keen on strengthening his offensive end and the Merseyside Reds will consider making a move for Asensio in one of the upcoming transfer windows.

Serie A giants, Juventus are also interested in the Spaniard and feel he could provide stern competition for the likes of Paulo Dybala and Federico Chiesa, while AC Milan – who returned to the Champions League – believe that they can offer two-time Champions League-winning forward regular first-team football that the other interested parties cannot guarantee.

Asensio started his first league game of the season against Real Mallorca on Wednesday night, and scored a hat-trick for Los Blancos in their 6-1 win on home soil.
