Liverpool interested in signing Borussia Dortmund attacker Giovanni Reyna

Liverpool are closely monitoring Borussia Dortmund playmaker Giovanni Reyna, ahead of a future transfer. United States international is a talented teenager who has already featured in the first team 18 times since his debut. Reyna’s tipped as a future star alongside fellow youngsters Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland.

The German manager, who has strong ties with Bundesliga giants after his spell managing there, is a big fan of Giovanni. The Merseyside giants are thought to have scouted the 17-year-old playmaker on many occasions to get a feel for his development. The American attacker is versatile and can play either as a playmaker or as a left-winger.

Reyna already has links with England. Giovanni was born there while his father, ex-Man City and Rangers player Claudio Reyna, was playing for Sunderland. A transfer could materialise in the future if the Reds are impressed with Reyna’s development. He’s currently at one of the best teams in the world for developing teenagers and is getting decent playing time.

A transfer during this window is unlikely as the German club plan to use Giovanni in the upcoming Bundesliga campaign. They will chase down the Bavarians after finishing second place last season. Giovanni is part of an exciting wave of footballers to play for the United States national team.

Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic is currently spearheading the wave, having already become the most expensive American footballer ever. Pulisic moved to England after breaking into the first team with Borussia Dortmund, too. Reds have so far been fairly quiet during this transfer window.
