Liverpool in pole position to sign 29-year-old prolific forward

Raul Jimenez has refused to commit his long-term future to wolves despite signing a new deal earlier last month.

The 29-year-old forward was rumoured with a a switch to Liverpool and Manchester United during the last summer transfer window after a brilliant 2019-20 season where he has managed to found back of the net 27 times in all competitions.

Jimenez has branded the talks surrounding a possible exit “just rumours”, however, the Mexico international has again opened the door about  a possible departure from Wolves.

“I was on my days off, on holiday, and every day that I woke up I was at a new club. It was just rumours, that’s it. I’m happy here and happy to stay here,” Jimenez told Sky Sports News.

“You always have to keep doors open for everything but never lose your mind. It’s going to be like this for all the transfer windows.

“If I stay, I’m very happy and I’m going to keep playing the same. If I have to leave, well it’s going to be part of it. We are professional football players and it is part of our life.”

Jimenez has managed to score three goals in five Premier League games this season
