Liverpool eyeing move for highly-rated Bundesliga defender
Liverpool may reportedly have to include Belgian forward Divock Origi in any proposal for Schalke 04 centre-back Ozan Kabak.
Jurgen Klopp is currently contemplating whether to sign a new defender when the transfer window will be re-opened in January after long-term injuries following Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk.
A report over the weekend claimed that AC Milan were ahead of the Premier League defending champions in the race to secure services of the Turkey international Kabak.
However, The Telegraph reports that Schalke may give the Merseyside Reds an edge in talks by requesting out-of-favour forward Origi in a possible swap deal.
With the Belgium international having rarely featured in the top flight this campaign, it has been reported that Liverpool could be prepared to part ways with the versatile forward.
Origi agent Wolfsburg during the 2017-18 season with six goals coming from 31 outings in the Bundesliga.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have reportedly identified AS Roma centre-back Roger Ibanez as a potential transfer target.
The 22-year-old defender is technically on loan with Serie A giants from Atalanta BC until next summer, however, will join the Italian side on a permanent basis if certain conditions are met.
According to ASRomaLive, the Merseyside Reds have been informed that the Serie A side would be open to selling the Brazil U-21 international for a fee that is believed to be valued at £36m.
