Liverpool eyeing move for €55m-rated AC Milan star

Liverpool have declared a strong interest in AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, according to the latest reports in Italy.

Franck is about to enter into the final one year of his contract at the San Siro outfit and a sense of uncertainty has been mounting over his future as his agent prepares for showdown discussions at Milan’s offices next week.

The 24-year-old Ivorian, formerly of Atalanta, is currently pocketing around €2.2 million net per season and the Rossoneri are prepared to go as high as €4 million per year in order to tie him down with another long-term contract.

However, his camp have been demanding closer to €6 million which has caused a degree of friction between the two sides and there is a real possibility the midfielder make way, just as Hakan Calhanoglu and Gianluigi Donnarumma have done before him this summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Franck isn’t threatening to pack his bags just yet but the Itlaian club are aware that the player has admirers both in Italy and overseas, who will be keeping a close eye on his current situation.

The report claims Jurgen Klopp’s side are especially fond, with the German coach determined to bring in a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum before the transfer window closes.
