Liverpool could agree permanent deal for 20-year-old Schalke defender
Schalke 04 are allegedly keen for Liverpool to take up their option to land Ozan Kabak on a permanent deal in the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old defender joined the Anfield side on loan at the start of February and has featured in two games for Jurgen Klopp’s side across all competitions, starting and finishing the recent matches with Leicester City and RB Leipzig.
As it stands, Ozan will return to Schalke in the summer, but Liverpool are said to have an option to sign the Turkish talent on a permanent deal.
According to a report from Fussball Transfers, Die Knappen are already planning for life in the 2.Bundesliga as the club are currently bottom of the Bundesliga standings with just nine points to show from 21 games.
The report adds that Schalke are hopeful that the financial issues that would arrive with relegation to the second division will be eased by the sale of Ozan to the Premier League champions.
