The Premier League giants are struggling with an injury crisis at the back, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez poised to miss the campaign, while Joel Matip has been haunted by issues.
It has been suggested that the Reds could dip into the transfer market to land another defender during this month’s transfer market period and they have been linked with Les Dogues man.
However, the Reds have rubbished Sven being a target, insisting the Dutchman is not even on the transfer radar for the summer.
An Anfield source told The Athletic: “There’s zero interest in Botman. He’s not even under consideration for the summer window.”
Sven only made the move to the Ligue 1 side from Dutch side Ajax in the last transfer window, but the French club’s desire to bring in necessary funds could see the Dutchman sold.
The centre-half came through de Joden’s academy and has been capped by his country up to Under-20 level.
Elsewhere, Fabrizio Romano has told GiveMeSport that the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah’s contract is not a priority for Liverpool.
The futures of Fabinho and Virgil van Dijk are understood to be far more pressing.
Both stars, along with Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane, have their contracts expiring in June 2022.
Mohamed has recently refused to commit his long-term future to the Reds.
