Liverpool considering move for Serie A creative playmaker

Liverpool reportedly remain a fan of Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski, but any chances of getting the midfielder could be blocked by the new deal he signed last year.

That is according to Calciomercato, who say the Reds have been an admirer of the Poland international since his days at Udinese.

He has been the star of the show for I Partenopei this season, with five goals and five assists in just 17 matches so far, meaning the player has stood out.

Piotr’s considered one of the best midfielders for showing and is increasingly becoming the leader of the team.

Luciano Spalletti has chosen to rely on him and has been rewarded for that faith with a couple of impressive performances and is more likely to follow.

If they do, then interest in the star is likely to increase, but fortunately for the club, they have sheltered themselves from that with a bumper contract.

He was tied to a fresh deal until 2024 last year, a full agreement that leaves owner Aurelio de Laurentiis calm and Napoli protected from the attempts of elite clubs.

One of those top sides are Liverpool, who are in first place for him and have been a fan of his since he played for I Partenopei.

That is something that is well established at this point, with the Merseysiders having been named as potential buyers at least once a month since Jurgen Klopp arrived at Anfield.

It seems any prospects of the club actually landing him are slim, though, with that deal signed in 2020, meaning the Italians are in no rush to sell.
