Liverpool considering move for 9-goals & 13-assists Eredivisie forward

Arsenal have jumped ahead of Manchester City and Liverpool in the race for PSV Eindhoven’s 22-year-old attacker Cody Gakpo, according to the latest reports.

The Dutchman has emerged as one of the most targeted starlets across Europe following his form for PSV, for whom he has managed to found back of the net nine times and provided 13 assists for in 23 Eredivisie games so far this campaign.

The Premier League looks to be his most likely destination should he make the departure from Dutch giants this summer, with Aad de Mos reporting that although Man City and Liverpool hold an interest in the forward, it is Arsenal that are frountrunners.

It is claimed that the Dutch outfits want around €40m (£33.3m) for their prized asset, whom has revealed his admiration for Arsenal legend Thierry Henry when he was growing up.

Arsenal head-coach Mikel Arteta is on the look out for attacking reinforcements in the upcoming summer transfer window, with Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette set to leave from the club while Liverpool are also in the market for a possible replacement to Divock Origi.
