Inter Milan 32-year-old defender linked with Arsenal move

Inter Milan full-back Danilo D’Ambrosio has allegedly emerged as a potential target for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

The 32-year-old Italian has been a key player for Inter during the 2020-21 season, contributing two goals in eight appearances across all competitions for Antonio Conte’s side.

The Italy international’s existing contract at San Siro is due to expire next summer, though, meaning that, as it stands, he’d be free to enter discussions with foreign sides in January.

According to, the Gunners could target D’Ambrosio at the start of 2021 as the London side’s head coach Mikel Arteta looks to improve the quality of his backline.

The Gunners could, in theory, agree on a pre-contract with the player in January ahead of a free transfer next June, but Inter Milan might be open to a sale at the start of 2021 if the club cannot agree to fresh terms.

D’Ambrosio has made 217 appearances for the Nerazzurri since arriving from fellow Serie A outfit Torino back in 2014.

Meantime, the agent of Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has denied that there is already a total agreement in place for his client to sign for RB Leipzig during the January transfer window.

Arsenal have been strongly mentioned with a move for the 20-year-old, who has netted five times and registered nine assists in 13 matches at club level this season.

A recent report stated that the Gunners are set to miss out on the star with Leipzig already agreeing to terms with Salzburg over a mid-campaign move.

However, when questioned on the rumours, Szoboszlai’s entourage Matyas Esterhaz told Index:

“Dominik Szoboszlai has no agreement with Leipzig or any other club, except of course his current club Red Bull Salzburg.”
