EPL club keen on to agree deal for £120,000 a-week Chelsea star

Chelsea full-back Marcos Alonso has reportedly emerged as a shock January transfer target for Premier League outfits, Crystal Palace.

The 29-year-old has only played three appearances for the West London club during the 2020-21 season and has not even made the squad for a Premier League games since the end of September.

Seire A giants, Inter Milan have been rumoured with the out-of-favour left-back ahead of the winter transfer window, however, according to the Daily Mail, the London rival, Crystal Palace are also weighing up a mid-season move.

The report suggested that the Eagles view the 29-year-old Spaniard as a possible replacement for Patrick van Aanholt, who could depart from Selhurst Park on a free transfer next season.

Roy Hodgson’s side are allegedly hopeful of extending contract for Van Aanholt, however, are preparing for the Dutchman’s departure, with Alonso being identified as a possible acquisition.

The ex-Real Madrid left-back has played 152 games for Chelsea in all competitions and has been instrumental figure for Antonio Conte’s side that managed to win the Premier League title, however, Frank Lampard seems to have already signed a long-term replacement after breaking the bank to lure Ben Chilwell from Leicester City.
