Deal On: Serie A giants in advanced talks to agree deal for out-of-favour Arsenal midfielder

The fact that Arsenal-owned Lucas Torreira is now called a leader for the Italian A club Fiorentina is probably enough to show that his loan spell from the Gunners has been quite successful, with the midfielder’s permanent move to Stadio Artemio Franchi sounding nearly certain.

La Viola’s intention to buy the player this summer is not a secret, as it is now a matter of when. Regarding the club’s plans, the local sports publication Il Corriere Dello Sport shares an update.

According to the newspaper, Fiorentina’s senior figures have been working on the purchase for the past several weeks, and are now preparing to ‘accelerate’ the proposed operation in the coming days.

They are set to sign the 26-year-old from the London outfit on a deal worth around €15 million, with Torreira signing a four-year contract with them.

As usual, Lucas gets much praise from the local press and media, with the aforementioned source writing that Serie A only enhanced his qualities.

The star, who joined the Emirates Stadium outfit in a £26.5 million (€30m) move from Sampdoria four years ago, is set to leave Arsenal for good with 89 matches to his name.
