Chelsea remain interested in signing of 23-year-old West Ham midfielder

Chelsea reportedly remain interested in securing the services of West Ham United defensive midfielder Declan Rice despite the exit of Thomas Tuchel as head coach.

German manager was sacked by the Blues last week, with Graham Potter appointed as his replacement, and the new boss started his reign with a 1-1 draw against Red Bull Salzburg in UCL.

The Blues were heavily linked with Rice during Tuchel’s time at the helm, with the German believed to be determined to bring the 23-year-old to Stamford Bridge.

However, according to journalist Dean Jones, the West London giants giants are still looking to bring their ex-academy graduate midfielder back to the club “when the time arrives”.

“Thomas Tuchel’s exit won’t really affect the Blues vision of adding Declan Rice. There are still people that stay within the team that are set on going for Declan Rice when the time arrives,” Jones told GIVEMESPORT.

Declan Rice was rumoured with a move away from West Ham over the summer, however, the Hammers are believed to currently value him in excess of £150m, which put a stop to any chance of him leaving.
