Chelsea midfielder could make move to Serie A

Having returned from his loan at the Serie A club Napoli, Tiemoue Bakayoko remains a Chelsea midfielder for the time being.

Unwanted by club hero Frank Lampard and now Thomas Tuchel, the holding midfielder wants to find a permanent solution for his long-term future rather than another loan, which AC Milan, where he has already spent a campaign, are ready to accommodate if possible.

Corriere dello Sport report that talks for the Frenchman’s return are continuing between Chelsea and the Italian side, with the Blues likely to extend the star’s contract by a year, since his existing deal runs out in 2022.

However, it’s made clear his intention is to leave the British capital permanently, where he has never found space.

The Rossoneri are his prime destination, as the prospect of playing with other compatriots at the San Siro outfit is very attractive to him, and there could be an acceleration in the talks in the coming weeks.

Great news for all involved, then, since Tiemoue could bring Chelsea cash to reinvest somewhere all the while reinforcing manager Stefano Pioli’s price for a likely more modest amount of money than the £36 million Chelsea paid to AS Monaco for Tiemoue in the first place.
