Chelsea keen on to agree deal for 22-year-old Serie A defender

Champions League winners Chelsea have reportedly joined the race to secure the services of Inter Milan full-back Achraf Hakimi.

The Serie A giants are believed to be looking to sell around £80m worth of first-team players in the summer to balance their books, a major factor for Antonio Conte’s exit last month.

Inter Milan value the Moroccan defender at around £70m and according to Daily Mail, the Blues have become the latest team, along with London rivals the Gunners and Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, to register their interest.

Newly-appointed head-coach Simone Inzaghi is keen to Hakimi to remain with the Italian giants next season, however, the club may reluctantly accept any big-money offer if one were to be made in the summer.

Hakimi had a stunning debut season for Inter Milan as was a key cog in Conte’s machine that helped the Nerazzurri win their first top-flight trophy in nine years.

The 22-year-old full-back who joined from La Liga giants, Real Madrid last summer for around £40m, made 37 appearances in Serie A, has managed to found back of the net seven times and providing 10 assists from right wing-back.

Both Chelsea and Arsenal would love to ad a quality player like Hakimi to their ranks.
