Chelsea in talks to agree deal for 25-year-old Premier League full-back

Chelsea have rekindled their interest in Marc Cucurella, according to Goal.

The Londoners are looking for a successor for Marcos Alonso and after looking at numerous options, the club have once again switched their attention to the Brighton star.

The 2021-22 term has seen the consolidation of multiple Spaniards on the European scene. One of them is the Seagulls full-back, who has adapted brilliantly to the Premier League.

The former Barcelona and Getafe talent has played a total of 36 matches in his first season at the Amex, starting most of them from the first minute. This hasn’t gone unnoticed by the elite clubs in the English top flight.

Thomas Tuchel’s side were one of those who cast their eyes on Cucurella, although interest slowly waned and he joined his current club but, as reported by the aforementioned source, the Blues are back in the transfer race for him.

Chelsea want to bring in a guaranteed left-back who can reinforce the role currently occupied by Marc’s compatriot. Cucurella could make the leap to one of the most successful clubs in the country.

Elsewhere, Barcelona are allegedly thinking about whether to put together an offer to sign Sevilla defender and Chelsea target Jules Kounde.
