Chelsea in pole position to sign AC Milan midfield maestro
AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is reportedly edging closer to a departure from the team amid links with several Premier League sides.
The Turkey international is set to become a free agent at the end of June, despite Italian giants best efforts to tie him down to a new contract throughout the 2020-21 campaign.
Calhanoglu affirmed last month that he was yet to reach a decision about his next move, however, he has reportedly been left unsatisfied with the Italian giants latest contract offer of €4m (£3.4m) per campaign at San Siro.
According to Milan News, the Rossoneri won’t increase their most recent offer of a new contract, and there is a growing expectation that Turkey international midfielder will depart from the club on a free transfer this summer.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea could therefore be handed a massive boost in their pursuits of the 27-year-old, with the North London club now seeking alternatives to Emiliano Buendia, who has agreed to become Ason Villa player for the next season.
Calhanoglu has managed to found back of the net nine times and assisted 12 more in 43 games across all competitions last campaign, and he is believed to be a vital player for Turkey at Euro 2020.
