Chelsea in advanced talks to agree deal for 26-year-old PSG star
Chelsea have reportedly drawn up a four-man watchlist of potential centre-half targets this summer with Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe being considered, reports say.
The Londoners are in dire need of defensive reinforcements in the summer with both Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger set to depart on free transfers when their deals expire at the end of the term.
Boss Thomas Tuchel is aiming to bolster the defence during the summer transfer market with a new left-sided central defender his top priority.
A few possible transfer targets have already been reported on, such as RB Leipzig’s young defender Josko Gvardiol and Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, but a name familiar to Thomas is also on their shortlist.
According to Goal.com, the club are keeping tabs on Les Parisiens man and could make a swoop for the player.
The 26-year-old star came through the academy in the French capital and made his debut as a youngster, while Presnel also spent almost two-and-a-half years playing under the German and really developed under him.
He has played 28 times in Ligue 1 this term en route to the league title and his side would be loathed to lose him, though the player is about to enter the final 24 months of his contract.
