Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly keeping tabs on full-back Leonardo Spinazzola ahead of a potential summer battle for the 28-year-old star, according to a recent report by Daily Express.
The Italian has found a stable footing in his career since signing for AS Roma from Juventus in the summer transfer market of 2019.
Since then, the defender has gone from strength to strength, establishing himself as a regular first-team player for the Giallorossi while also becoming the first-choice left-back for his country’s national side.
This past season, he made 39 appearances across all competitions for the Rome-based outfit, chipping in with three goals and eight assists.
Leonardo’s progress has piqued the interest of two Premier League giants, with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur interested in signing him.
The Blues are set to enter the market for a left-back this summer, with Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso both facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are keeping their options open, with Villarreal’s Alfonso Pedraza emerging as a target and Leonardo is a viable target as well, with his prowess in the attack making him an ideal fit in the system that the German tactician has utilised at Chelsea till now.
