Championship club tried to sign Chelsea 26-year-old defender
Tottenham Hotspur out-of-favour defender Danny Rose is attracting interest from championship club, Middlesbrough after falling down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.
The 30-year-old defender went on loan to Newcastle United back in January this year after growing frustrated at his lack of regular first-team minutes under the ex-Chelsea head-coach, who had taken over from Mauricio Pochettino two months earlier.
The signing of Jose Reguilon from La Liga giants, Real Madrid in the recent transfer window means Danny Rose is now third choice at the left-back position Spaniard and Ben Davies.
Middlesbrough are also planning to secure services of forgotten Chelsea defender Baba Rahman from the Blues on a season-long loan.
The 26-year-old defender, who joined the West London club from German outfits Augsburg back in the summer of 2015, has played 15 Premier League games since his move to England, with all of those coming in his first season at the West London club.
Rahman has had a loan spells at Real Mallorca, Reims and Schalke 04.
The Ghanaian’s career has been hampered in a recent years by a cruciate ligament rupture, which kept him out of first-team football for more than seven months back in 2017, and following his knee injury, which sidelined him for virtually the whole of last campaign.
Middlesbrough currently sit 10th in the Championship standing after four games.
