Bayern Munich experienced defender linked with Arsenal move

German outlet Bild claims that Arsenal is still keen on making a move for Bayern Munich defender, Jerome Boateng.

The north Londoners have been linked with a swoop for the German star in several of the last few transfer windows.

In the last transfer market, the club were tipped to land him yet again, but Mikel Arteta’ side decided to sign Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille.

The report states that despite landing the South American who has proven to be a transfer steal in the summer, they’re still looking to sign Jerome.

The central defender has entered the final year of his existing contract at the German side and will not sign a fresh deal.

Although he was frequently dropped from the starting eleven under Nico Kovac, he has been an important member of their first team under their new head coach, Hansi Flick.

He was key for them as Die Roten won the treble last season and if the Gunners can land him in the summer, Jerome will bring serious leadership to the back for the club.

Mikel Arteta has made his outfit a tough side to break at the back, if they can secure a return to UCL football this season, the former Manchester City man would certainly be helpful in that competition.

In other news, Arsenal have allegedly begun talks with the agents of Red Bull Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai over a potential transfer in 2021.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been linked with a transfer to the Emirates Stadium as a potential alternative to Lyon star Houssem Aouar, with the club keen to bolster the midfield further after the arrival of Thomas Partey.
