Arsenal provide positive injury update on £14m defender
Earlier today news came about fitness of Arsenal forgotten defender Pablo Mari.
The Spanish defender has only played 24 minutes of first-team football under Mikel Arteta since the March.
Mari was an early casualty in the Gunners hammering by the Citizens during the first game in in June and injury has prevented him from playing since.
The Gunners have paid £14 million to secure the services of 27-year-old centre-back on a permanent basis, after originally joining on loan from Brazilian outfits Flamengo back in January.
The North London club posted an injury update on their official website on Saturday and suggested that Spaniard is only 10 days away from making a return to training.
Arsenal’s defenders situation isn’t as healthy as it looked before the season began, with French defender, William Saliba deemed too raw to play senior games as of yet, while Rob Holding has been ruled out for four weeks.
And with Shkodran Mustafi rusty after his lengthy absence, that leaves Gabriel and David Luiz as the only options for Mikel Arteta to start in the heart of the Gunners defence.
