Arsenal promising forward on the verge to leave club

Arsenal are allegedly planning to send youngster Folarin Balogun out on loan during the winter transfer window.

The 20-year-old signed a new deal with the club until June 2025 earlier this year but continues to struggle for minutes over the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette.

He played in both of the Gunners’ opening defeats to Chelsea and Brentford this season but hasn’t made a Premier League appearance since, instead being restricted to the U23s and seven minutes in the EFL Cup.

Now, The Athletic states that Balogun is set to leave the Emirates on loan over the winter, and the England youth international has attracted ‘huge’ interest from somewhere else.

However, the report goes on to state that with Alexandre and Nketiah potentially leaving the club in January before their deals expire next summer – as well as Pierre-Emerick’s participation in the Africa Cup of Nations – Folarin could yet be given more senior team opportunities in the New Year.

Balogun has netted 14 goals and assisted four more in 10 Premier League 2 matches this season and scored his first goal for the England U23s against the Czech Republic last month.
