Arsenal in talks to sign 20-year-old English full-back

Arsenal are interested in securing services of Brighton & Hove Albion full-back Tariq Lamptey this summer transfer window, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 20-year-old defender has missed a chunk of the 2020-21 campaign following to a hamstring injury, however, started the current campaign in stunning fashion, providing one goal and three assists in 11 Premier League games.

The ex-Chelsea starlet has a deal at the Amex Stadium until June 2025, however, according to Romano, the Gunners are considering the England Under-21s international as an option at right-back, with Hector Bellerin is likely to departing from the Emirates Stadium, while Cedric Coares has been also tipped to be on his way out from the Gunners.

“For sure, next summer, can happen something big for him. Arsenal are looking at him as possible option at right-back. Keep an eye on Arsenal because they are among the clubs interested in Lamptey,” Romano said on his Here We Go Podcast.

“There is still nothing advanced, there is still nothing signed. Nothing serious yet, but they’re looking at him, he’s on the list, he’s considered an interesting player, so Arsenal will decide the future in the coming months.”

Arsenal will face Leicester City on March 6 in the Premier League.
