Arsenal in danger to miss out signing of Sporting Lisbon starlet

Manchester City have joined the race to sign Sporting Lisbon attacker and Arsenal target Joelson Fernandes this summer, according to the latest reports.

In spite of often being overlooked by Lions head coach Ruben Amorim last term, but the Portuguese sensation is set to be involved in the senior team set-up next season, with his showings for the club’s youth sides quitting the club staff impressed.

With two years left on his existing deal with the Primeira Liga giants, the 18-year-old has drawn interest from the Citizens.

Arsenal were widely linked with a swoop for Fernandes last year, and it was reported that the club were lining up a bid for the ace’s signature, and though a transfer failed to materialise in 2020, Mikel Arteta’s team have renewed their interest in the youngster’s signature ahead of the new campaign.
