Arsenal eyeing move for Rennes box-to-box midfielder
Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly joined Liverpool in the race to land Eduardo Camavinga.
The Premier League champions are understood to have identified the Rennes starlet as a possible replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Netherlands international is out of contract at the club on June 30 and is expected to be plying his trade elsewhere next season.
But the Reds are not the only Premier League club touted with an interest in the 18-year-old.
According to a report by Marca, the Gunners the Red Devils are also keeping tabs on Camavinga.
The Frenchman looks set to leave Rennes this summer, having decided that he will not sign a fresh deal with the club.
Camavinga’s current deal runs until 2022, but the Ligue 1 side won’t want to risk losing him for nothing at the end of next campaign.
Real Madrid are among the talent’s admirers, but Mikel Arteta’s side, the Merseyside giants and 20-time English champions will each hope to bring the player to the Premier League.
Eduardo, who has been likened to Arsenal icon Patrick Vieira, burst onto the scene back in 2019 aged 16.
He is now a regular first-team player and has racked up 34 appearances across all competitions this term.
Rennes will no doubt hope a bidding war takes place as the club seek to maximise the sum they will receive for their academy product.
