Arsenal eyeing move for 24-yer-old Valencia midfielder
Arsenal have reportedly revived their interest in a Valencia midfielder amid the Spanish club’s continued financial difficulties.
The north Londoners have struggled to be a potent force in the final third for much of the current season.
In spite of a recent mini-revival, the club remain in the bottom half of the Premier League standings.
Their main problem has come in the creation of chances. In spite of the club’s current midfield variants often failing to provide their forwards with quality service, calls for the return of outcast Mesut Ozil have fallen on deaf ears.
The lack of cutting edge could be solved in the transfer market, but the club missed out to RB Leipzig over long-time target Dominik Szoboszlai last month.
Ex-Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen remains an option, but according to HITC, the Gunners’ focus has shifted.
The media outlet, who quotes Spanish publication El Desmarque, reveal that Valencia playmaker Carlos Soler is back on their radar.
The Gunners are described as being ‘keen’ to sign the 24-year-old who has registered five goals and four assists from just 12 La Liga games this season.
Soler was linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium outfit last year, but a transfer ultimately did not materialise.
Their chances are seemingly increased through the fact Los Murcielagos are struggling financially.
They are described as being ‘vulnerable’ in the transfer market and will consider any decent proposal for their players regardless of the damage it will do to the senior team.
