Arsenal boosted in their attempt to sign World-Class No.7 attacker
Arsenal have been given a major boost in an attempt to sign Raheem Sterling, according to a fresh report by Transfer Market Web.
The Manchester City attacker is leaning towards making the move to the Emirates instead of joining Barcelona.
So far, the 26-year-old star has started just six of the 18 matches that the Citizens have played this season, registering two goals and as many assists in the process.
However, that hasn’t deterred prospective potential buyers, with Mikel Arteta’s side and Blaugrana tailing him. The interest from the Gunners is understandable, given Alexandre Lacazette is running down his current deal.
In addition, there have been reports that the club are weighing up the possibility of selling Nicolas Pepe, whose poor showings have prompted the board to make a big call on his long-term future and Raheem would be a major upgrade on the Ivorian if the wide man can rediscover his best form.
According to the same report, the former Liverpool ace is leaning towards joining the north London side because he thinks he can be a leading figure for Arsenal.
So, even though it was recently stated that the Catalans were closing in on signing the 26-year-old attacker, that might not be the case after all.
