Almost Done: Wrexham starlet on the verge to sign for Chelsea after successful trial

Chelsea have reportedly edged ahead in the race to secure the services Wrexham wonderkid Daniel Davies.

The 16-year-old sensation made his debut for Wales Under-18s, helping his nation to a 1-1 draw against England U-18s.

The teenager’s fine form during that fixture strengthened his chances of securing a transfer to a top club over the coming months.

According to Goal, the left-back has been provided with an opportunity to spend a week on trial with Thomas Tuchel’s side.

Liverpool are also believed to be keen on the prospect, while Stoke City and Brighton & Hove are regarded as alternatives.

With Davies having not penned a professional deal, Wrexham are currently not entitled to any compensation.

Meanwhile, La Liga giants, Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to offer Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger a deal worth £6.8m a year to move to the Bernabeu on a free transfer when his contract expires with the Blues.

The 28-year-old, who continues to be strongly rumoured with a move to German giants, Bayern Munich, has still not signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge, and as it stands, he will be a free agent next summer.

Foreign teams will be able to speak with the German centre-back at the turn of the year if he does not pen a new deal with Thomas Tuchel’s side in the coming weeks.

According to Defensa Central, the Los Blancos are determined to bring the defender to the Spanish capital and are prepared to offer him lucrative terms.
