Jose Mourinho ready to splash out £47.6m on long-term Man United target

Jose Mourinho is extreme to bolster his defence with a new defender and will submit £47.6million for Roma’s Kostas Manolas.

The Manchester United head coach has claimed he does not plan to acquire another centre-back. However, behind the view is still working on a contract for Manolas.

According to the Sun Mourinho had firstly planned £32.5m for The Greek International. That came after negotiations with Victor Lindelof hit a wall despite Benfica and Vasteras lately agreeing a sell-on price.

And last May, when The Portugues manager started looking at which footballers he would like to land, he paid particular attention to Manolas and team-mate Alessandro Florenzi.

However, Roma, who now sit just four points adrift Serie A leaders Juventus, are unwilling to lose one of their most sought-after players.

The Red Devils are keeping up their chase for Manolas while not ruling out a move for Benfica defender Lindelof whose lover lately dropped a huge hint regarding his fate.

So, one of these two footballers will be the future of a Jose Mourinho’s defence that has been reinforced by the return of Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.
