Arsenal have launched £35.m for long-term Man United and Chelsea target
Arsenal launched a massive bid for Manchester United and Chelsea target Kostas Manolas in the summer transfer window, according to the Greek International’s agent.
“Over the summer a proposal worth circa £35.m was turned down from Arsenal for Kostas. Arsenal had already shown interest before, but then Roma’s demands were superior to the intentions of the English club.” – the player’s agent reveals.
Few days ago, the CalcioMercato reported that Inter Milan are closing in on the Greek star and a deal is close to being agreed.
The top-class defender is a man in demand this term after proving himself as one of Europe’s greatest defenders.
Another Italian outlet, Transfermarketweb, reported over the weekend that battle for his services is tough.
The report suggests that Chelsea and Manchester United are all extreme to sign him up.
Other European sides Bayern Munich, Juventus and Paris St-Germain are also reportedly lining a January move.
Sp, all Premier League heavyweights are expected to reinforce their defensive line this month.
And Monolas’ solid and composed style is perfectly suited to the hardness of Premier League.
The Greek International has played 22 matches for club and country so far this campaign.
Manolas joined Roma from Greek club Olympiakos in 2014 for £12m and has since performed in over 100 matches for the Serie A club.
He is contracted to Roma until June 2019 and would possible cost in excess of £32m.
